You've Never Tried This
The Daily Meathead
Today I wanted to share with you a triceps extension setup I’ve tinkered with for a while now that I’ve come to love.
Many of you have likely ever done this before (exciting!).
It’s a variation of a triceps extension that you can do with substantial stability - a quality that very few triceps exercises possess.
Some comments on the variation to help you execute it properly:
Ensure the cable isn’t set too high - you want it close to being directly behind the shoulder.
Don’t worry about using “full range of motion”. That isn’t the point of this, nor any exercise necessarily. Use the range that is loaded substantially, which is only the top portion of elbow bending (as I demonstrated).
Make sure the bottom of your arm is the part that’s most supported by the stack.
Ensure your upper arm is being shoved directly into the pole so that it’s not oriented at an angle sideways.
In tomorrow’s newsletter, I’m going to teach you about why this kind of setup is so useful compared to the traditional alternatives people commonly teach.
