Modern Meathead Notes:
The front delts are on the front of the shoulder, which means they’re trained best by loading more in a front-back direction.
The middle delts are on the side of the shoulder, which means they’re trained best by loading more in a side-side direction.
The rear delts are on the back side of the shoulder, which means they’re trained best by loading more in a back-front direction.
All of the deltoids are strongest when they are more lengthened, which means you should try to line the cable up close to 90º from the arm at the “bottom” of each motion if you want to train them most specifically.
When performing any single arm motion, ensure you’re using the opposite hand to hold onto something for stability if you don’t feel stable.
